List of Audio Equipment

We use studio-quality equipment, ruggedized in airline cases for field use.  We can record to multitrack as well as direct to two-track, and we can equip up to five crews at a time.  This is a partial list of our gear:

The AKG414B/ULS is our mainstay recording microphone. 

This exremely sensitive large-diameter condenser microphone may be configured in five patterns, from omnidirectional to figure-eight. For stereo work we use a pair.

 

 

The Alesis HD-24 is a 24-track digital tape recorder rugged enough to rack up for the field.  It records to a pair of removable hard drives.We use it for jazz  and pop work, where a lot of post-production mixing is required.

 

One of our four Mackie mixers, a 1604VLZ.  We use Mackies because they have extremely quiet mike preamps and they're build like tanks.
